Dr. James Van Riper
Dr. James Van Riper performed his undergraduate work in Wichita Falls, Texas, where he met and married his wife Marcy. He and Marcy have been married over 20 years and have two sons: Chase, 13 and Conner, 8.
Dr. Van Riper graduated with honors from Kansas City University of Medicine and Bio Sciences in 1997. He performed his residency in Odessa at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center from 1997 to 2001. In 2001 he set up private practice in Brownwood, Texas, until he moved back to Odessa to take over Dr. Richard Pietila’s private practice in 2007.
Dr. Van Riper is a board certiﬁed OB-GYN with special interest in Urinary Incontinence and Minimally Invasive Surgeries. He is the local provider for the DiVinci Robotic Hysterectomy procedure and has been Chief of Surgery at Odessa Regional Medical Center since 2010.
This down-to-earth, family man is held in high regard by colleagues as well as his staff. He is always willing to teach new techniques or assist with a surgery when needed. He treats his staff like family and takes time with his patients answering any questions that may arise.
Dr. Van Riper is a third generation traveller and loves to visit different places for the culture, food and scenery. His favorite destination is Hawaii and he and his family escape to the islands as often as his heavy work load will allow.
Dr. Van Riper is accepting new patients from Odessa, Midland and the surrounding areas.
Jackie Lehr is a Board Certiﬁed Nurse Practitioner. She did her undergraduate work at Texas Tech Health Services Center and her graduate work in Women’s Health Care in El Paso, Texas at the University of Texas El Paso.
Jackie has 4 years of experience as a labor and delivery nurse at Medical Center Hospital, as well as 11 years as a nurse practitioner at Texas Tech Health Services Center. She has worked as a private practice nurse practitioner with Van Riper since 2007. Jackie specializes in OB care, women’s health, annual check-ups and pap smears, as well as menopause related issues.
Jackie is very caring and compassionate and always puts her patients needs ﬁrst. She has over 22 years of experience taking care of her clients, their children, and their children’s children. She welcomes patients of all ages.
Jackie and her husband, Alan, have been married for 25 years and have one son, Grant, 16. She enjoys reading, yard work and decorating her home.
